  2. Not as hip or savvy perhaps, but the album of the year for me was Jars of Clay Long Fall Back to Earth. I'm not a huge fan of most of their work, but that album is just amazing.

  3. I would have to agree that all of those albums are some of the best of 2009. I would probably also add Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear, When the Devil's Loose by AA Bondy, and Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective.

  15. a lot have already been said. new springsteen, dylan, i know it's comi but i dig the viva la vida, new jason upton was great, i feel in love it john mark this year (sorry took a minute but it was me not you :)) i dug most of the u2, daniel lanois red floor sessions have been sweet. matthew perryman jones- swallow the sea, got my first experience of the embers very sweet, tenoutoftenn 09 tour, i should stop now

  17. Not to repeat, I didn't see AFI's Crash Love in anyones list. Say what you will about the nihilistic undertones, but its good music.

    Also, The Script released a good album. It had a U2-esque universal appeal to it.

    I think Owl City-Ocean Eyes is also worth mentioning.

    Pete Yorn-Music for the morning after (I know, its been out awhile, but I finally got around to buying it in 2009... good stuff)

    As for booty shaking... I hate to admit how rediculously catchy some of Lady Ga-Ga's songs are... I have had some of the most bizzare phrases stuck in my head thanks to her radio hits.
